In December 2008, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco U.S.A collected 7 pieces of woodblock prints thought typical for the Southwest of China. One of these 7 prints was Belief Road by Yang Yongsheng. Some clients of artelino may remember this print well.
Acquired and Exhibited by Asian Art Museum of San Francisco
I have learned this only now. From July 2009 until March 2010, these collected prints were displayed in the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition Hall with other Chinese prints and New Year paintings which had been collected by the museum over the years.

Good News for artelino clients
artelino had sold overall 4 copies of this print design since 2006. The print was created by the artist using a specific technique of etching - etching positive - a technique developed by the artist. The total edition is 50.
Shown at Top Exhibitions
This work showing Buddhist monks had already a splendid exhibition history when we sold it. The etching was shown at the 14th Chinese Printmaking National Exhibition and at the 10th Fine Arts Exhibition of China. Belief Road is also in the collections of the Inner Mongolia Art and the Shengzhou Printmaking Art Museum.

A Milestone in Yunnan Printmaking
The acquisition by the Asian Art Museums in SF, one of the most renowned museums for Asian art in the world, raises this print to a kind of Hall of Fame member of modern Chinese printmaking.
Congratulations to the collectors who bought this art print by Yang Yongsheng several years ago.
