Chen Guangyong is a leading print maker in China. Style, subject and themes show a wide spectrum. However the artist is not so easy to interpret for Western minds and eyes. His art series with such titles like Gloves, Paper Napkins, Shadows or Panda are regularly shown in major Chinese art exhibitions like the National Print Exhibitions of China or the Yunnan Art Exhibitions.
Artist from Yunnan
Mr.Chen Guangyong was born in Zhaotong city of Yunnan province in 1973. He finished his art studies at the printmaking department of Yunnan Fine Art Academy in 1999. He is a member of Yunnan Artists' Association and vice-president of Artists' Association of Zhaotong city.
Exhibitions
2001
The print The Image of X-Rays attended the first National Silkscreen Prints Exhibition in Beijing and won the prize for outstanding work.
The print The Image of X-Rays No.4 attended the 7th National Lithography, Etching and Silkscreen Print Exhibition in Hubei province and won the outstanding prize.
2002
The print Gloves Series No.3 and Gloves Series No.4 attended the 16th National Print Exhibition in Hefei city.
The print The Image of X-Rays attended the 5th Kochi International Print Exhibition, Kochi, Japan.
2003
The print Gloves Series No.4 attended the 8th National Lithography, Etching and Silkscreen Prints Exhibition in Chongqing city.
2004
The print Gloves Series No.8 attended the 2nd National Silkscreen Prints Exhibition in Tianjin city and won the copper prize.
2005
The silkscreen prints Glove No.8, Series of Palm. Clapping 1, Series of Palm. Clapping 2 participated in the Invitation Exhibition of the 20 Chinese Contemporary Silkscreen Print Artists.
2005 - The silkscreen print The Series of Superstar – Hero participated in the 6th Yunnan Physical Education Exhibition and obtained the third prize.
2006
9 prints of the Gloves series attended the 7+1 Print Exhibition at 798 Art Gallery in Beijing.
2007
The prints Shadow Series No.1, No.2, and No.3 attended the 8th Yunnan Print Exhibition, and won the outstanding prize in Kunming.
The print Shadow Series No.5 attended the 18th National Print Exhibition in Shanghai.
2008
The print Shadow Series No.13 attended the Print Exhibition in Yunnan and Suzhou.
2009
The print Shadow Series - Rose No.2 was selected for the International Print Biennial, Guanlan.
The print Shadow Series - Calligraphy was selected to be shown in the 11th National Art Exhibition (Nanjing city).
The print Shadow Series - Bird and Net won the Golden prize in the Colorful Cloud Yunnan popular Art Exhibition. Kunming city.
2010
The print Shadow Series - Calligraphy won the outstanding prize during the Yunnan Art Creation Exhibition.
2012
The print Shadow Series - Calligraphy was selected for the 1st Kunming Art Biennial - Yunnan Outstanding Art Exhibition.
